Safe Pedestrian Crossings - Pedestrian Safety - Safe Crossings - System of Road Signs - Safe Traffic or Traffic Safety - Traffic Safety System for Pedestrians
The 1st Generation
The use of the imbedded bidirectional LED signals located optimally in the middle of the ZEBRA stripes on the pedestrian crossing ensures the effective accentuation of the site of the pedestrian crossing over the entire width of the carriageway, especially from the point of view of the drivers of oncoming vehicles. The modification can be used on roads with two or more lanes. The imbedded LED signals can have different colours or may be in a combination of individual colours. From a traffic engineering point of view, it is suitable to use orange coloured lights. White light can be used to accentuate the white ZEBRA stripe. Red imbedded LED signals can also be used for exceptionally dangerous pedestrian crossings, which are, for example, also highlighted with red lines (not conditional). This is similar to the 3D accentuation of pedestrian crossings.
The accentuation of the pedestrians is achieved with supplementary lighting for pedestrian crossings using lights with asymmetrical radiating characteristics according to method set out in THE SUPPLEMENTARY LIGHTING.
